Historic Vignettes - 2011 Schedule
Presented by Core Cast of the Nauvoo Pageant

Nauvoo Remembered Historical Vignettes give visitors a
chance to meet pageant cast members
in an intimate setting and learn more about the events
related to Nauvoo and the pageant.
Each of these six sketches are performed twice weekly at
various locations in Old Nauvoo

Trail of Hope
(Thurs & Sat at 8:00am -
July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30)
Visitors strolling Parley Street to the riverbank can
listen to stories of those who walked this road in the
1840s as they left their homes and headed west. From the
Seventies Hall on Parley Street, small groups will begin
the trail every few minutes from 8:00 to 8:45 a.m. on
Thursday and Saturday mornings during the pageant
season.

Letters
of Joseph and Emma
(Wed & Fri 1:30pm -
July 6, 8, 13, 15,
20, 22, 27, 29)
This
vignette offers poignant insights into the life of the
Prophet Joseph and his beloved wife Emma through
quotations from their actual letters. Actors portraying
Emma, Joseph, and Lucy Mack Smith perform on Wednesday
and Friday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. across the street
from the Mansion House during the pageant season. |
King Follette Discourse
(Wed & Fri at 4:00pm - July 6, 8, 13, 15,
20, 22, 27, 29)
In the West Grove, the
actor portraying Joseph Smith presents portions of one
of the Prophet’s last major discourses, a funeral sermon
given in honor of Brother King Follett. In this speech
the Prophet taught profound truths about God and the
eternal nature of families. Performances will be held on
Wednesday and Friday afternoons at 4:00 pm during the
pageant season.

Go Ye Into All The World
(Thurs & Sat 1:30pm -
July 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30)
Visitors will enjoy
reminiscing with Elders Parley P. Pratt, Wilford
Woodruff, John Taylor, Heber C. Kimball, and Brigham
Young as they share their missionary experiences and
their testimonies. Performances take place in the
Seventies Hall on Thursday and Saturday afternoons at
1:30 p.m. during the pageant season. |
Women of Nauvoo
(Tues & Thurs at 4:00pm - July 7, 12, 14, 19, 21, 26,
28)
Emma
Smith, Eliza R. Snow, Ellen Briggs Douglas, and other
women of Old Nauvoo share their experiences with and
love for the Relief Society. This society, begun with a
handful of sisters under the direction of a prophet of
God, has since grown to be the largest women’s
organization in the world. Performances will be held in
the Relief Society Garden by the Historic Nauvoo
Visitors’ Center on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons at
4:--pm during the pageant season.

Youth of Zion
(Tues – 1:30pm, Sat 4:00pm – July 9, 12, 16, 19, 22,
26, 30)
All ages will enjoy this vignette about the young people
of Old Nauvoo. Mary and Caroline Rollins, George Q.
Cannon, and Robet Dennison share with visitors stories
of bravery, testimony, and good old-fashioned fun every
Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. and Saturday afternoon at
4:00 p.m. across from the Print Shop on Main Street
during the pageant season.
